Dear Brenda,
The new USB-800 reader has been designed to overcome a problem faced by many users of the older style of embroidery machines. Those older machines rely on floppy discs for input of new designs.
Double density floppy discs are almost impossible to find now and hight density (HD) floppies are rapidly disappearing from computer stores too.
USB-800 is a free standing unit that connects directly to the tape reader (parallel) port of older style machines but can also be connected to the serial (COM) port of the more recent models of machine.
Features Parallel cables are available for Barudan, Tajima & Happy Serial cables are available for Barudan, Happy, Tajima, SWF and Brother Reads Tajima .DST format designs Reads Barudan .U?? (HD) format designs - so colour change sequence is retained Adjustable download speed Design can be saved directly onto the USB root directory Designs can also be saved into folders on the USB memory device Includes a power supply that can be plugged directly into you machine's 100 volt power socket Includes a USB flash memory stick
